The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) hosted a Ramadan Ghabga dedicated to celebrating a number of the Bank’s corporate responsibility initiatives during the month of Ramadan. The event, held with a traditional Bahraini neighbourhood theme, was attended by more than 750 people including the Bank’s Executive Management team, Bank employees and spouses in addition to members of the Conserving Bounties Society.

Some 36 volunteer NBB staff were also trained by Society members, through a live demonstration, on how to pack excess food for distribution. Following the event, some 400 food parcels were prepared and delivered to people in need.

Also present at the Ghabga were a number of social media influencers who helped in the making and promotion of NBB’s Ramadan video and ShareToCareBH campaign, which focused on raising awareness of food waste. The two young actors and mother featured in the video were awarded as part of the evening’s proceedings and NBB’s ongoing efforts to support and recognise the talent and creativity of Bahraini youth, alongside other noteworthy initiatives showcased over the course of the evening.

Commenting, Mr. Jean-Christophe Durrand, CEO of NBB, said, “To celebrate this important month, and NBB’s ongoing commitment to get closer to our staff, their families and our communities, we are delighted to have hosted a night aimed at highlighting strategic partnerships that allow us to give back. We are proud to see our Bank and our employees join with charitable organisations to help needy segments of Bahraini society and drive our own initiatives to positively impact our community and those we serve.”
