Manama – 10  June 2018: NBB today announced that it is set to host a Forum for SMEs in line with the Bank’s upcoming roll out its new and enhanced business online banking platform, which is currently in the beta testing phase and will become available to all business customers as of 26th, June.

The Forum is taking place on 25 June 2018 at the Four Seasons Hotel together with the support of Community Partner ROWAD, which is among Bahrain’s leading providers of programmes that empower SMEs. The event’s primary aim is to encourage and prepare SMEs to leverage the vast benefits of online banking and how it can help in the drive for greater productivity, efficiency and growth. The Forum is part of the Bank’s broader strategy and a series of planned initiatives to bolster the development and success of Bahraini SMEs.

More than 150 representatives from among Bahrain’s thriving SME community are expected to attend the half day event from across sectors. Participants will have the chance to benefit from the opportunity to network with senior NBB staff and business banking specialists, their SME peers as well as hear several informative panel discussions moderated by ROWAD. These will primarily focus on how online banking can facilitate the management of everyday banking for SMEs including  providing for better cash flow management, payroll, money management and other critical accounting and finance related tasks that can be streamlined and simplified digitally.

Panellists taking part in the discussions will include representatives from NBB’s SME team, the SME Society, Bahrain Fintech Bay (BFB) and, importantly, NBB customers that have already begun to utilise and test the new online banking platform during its soft launch and phased rollout. These customers will share with audience members their experience of using NBB’s online banking platform and the impact on their businesses as a result.

Commenting, Richard Hicks, Chief Marketing Officer at NBB, said, “We’re delighted to be nearing the full rollout of NBB’s new business online banking platform. We have listened to what our customers need and worked hard to develop a solution to help SMEs operate and grow in a more time and cost efficient manner. This is critical to the development of SMEs and to ensuring they are best managing and deploying their resources by maximising efficiency on every level. We are grateful for the support of our customers in helping us to develop and bring to market a world-class online banking platform and to ROWAD for its support for this Forum. NBB, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom of Bahrain to be a leading SME hub, is dedicated to doing all it to help businesses and entrepreneurs meet their potential and fulfil their roles as the engines for economic growth. As business online banking goes live, we look forward to seeing our SME customers benefit significantly.”
