 Al Watani Mega Prize winner of US $ 555,555.55

NBB today announced the winner of the Mega Prize draw for the Al Watani Savings Scheme for 2009. The Mega Prize of US $ 555,555.55- the biggest single largest cash award in the Kingdom’s banking industry was won by Mrs. Warda Ali Ahmed Ali.  The Al Watani Savings Scheme was the pioneer of such a scheme in the Kingdom and in keeping with its legacy, it was also the first to offer a cash prize of US $ 555,555.55 as the single largest prize in the Kingdom too.

In a special ceremony held at the NBB Main branch in Manama, Abdul Aziz Al Ahmed, Executive Assistant General Manager, Marketing & Sales of NBB handed over the cheque to Mrs. Warda Ali Ahmed Ali. The ceremony was attended by members of the press along with other NBB staff members.

Viewing saving as a national obligation, Al Watani encourages people from different age groups to save, a habit NBB chooses to reinforce in order to honour its commitments towards the society. Apart from this noble goal, AlWatani Saving Scheme Awards had a significant impact on the winners’ lives and enabled them to realise their dreams and achieve their personal goals.

While congratulating Mrs. Warda Ali Ahmed Ali on winning the single largest cash prize in the Kingdom, Abdul Aziz Al Ahmed said, “At NBB, we have always been at the forefront of the development of the community in the Kingdom. As part of its philosophy in creating a favorable environment for saving, NBB devised its AlWatani Saving Scheme years ago to achieve this objective. During that period, AlWatani Saving Scheme gained immense popularity in the Kingdom as a pioneer in promoting the culture of savings within the community. It gives us great pleasure to see that the AlWatani Saving Scheme Awards has had a significant impact on the winners’ lives and enabled them to realise their dreams and achieve their personal goals.”

Mr. Abdul Aziz Al Ahmed added, “NBB has always been known for its commitment to society and we will continue to improve on our efforts to better serve our customers. . The committed support of its customers and prudent management policies have helped the Bank to deliver good results even during difficult times.”

Mr. Abdul Aziz Al Ahmed also conveyed the congratulations of NBB’s CEO & Director Mr. Abdul Razak Abdulla Hassan Al Qassim to Mrs. Warda Ali Ahmed Ali on her win and extended his thanks to all the Bank’s customers for their support and patronage. 

Mrs. Warda Ali Ahmed Ali, who was ecstatic on winning the mega prize of US $ 555,555.55 said  “I am at a loss of words to describe the feeling. NBB has not only given me this prize but has changed my life in a way I never thought possible. I have always banked with NBB and I want to thank them for this generosity. The Al Watani Savings Scheme has not only helped me to save but has also now, given me the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of such savings.”

In the Al Watani Savings Scheme  has proven its success among customers who have embraced and valued it in high regard. The Saving Scheme has rewarded over 75 winners in the last two years and they among others must be anticipating the launch of revamped AlWatani Saving Scheme for this year.
