On the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan, National Bank of Bahrain distributed foodstuff purchase coupons for the underprivileged families through Charity Funds all over the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Mr. Abdul Razak Abdulla Hassan Al Qassim, NBB Chief Executive Officer & Director, said " In line with its role as a responsible corporate citizen, NBB has been undertaking various initiatives to aid the underprivileged families across the Kingdom through its annual donations and contributions programme. The distribution of food purchase coupons is another initiative aimed at benefiting the underprivileged sections of the Bahraini community. We, at NBB would like to take this opportunity to thank all the Charity Funds for their cooperation and commendable efforts in acting as our distribution channels and helping us in reaching out to a larger number of underprivileged families this year."

In this initiative, NBB coordinated with 80 Charity Funds registered with the Ministry of Social Development in addition to 5 Charitable Societies. The Bank has distributed foodstuffs purchase coupons worth BD 150,000. The amount has been allocated to local Charity Funds to be distributed to underprivileged families to aid them in purchasing foodstuff for the holy month of Ramadan .

On their part, representatives from Charitable Funds and Societies expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Bank for its continued support. They commended the speed with which the coupons have been distributed and the timing of the distribution that has come well in advance of the blessed month of Ramadan to give the families enough time to do their purchases for the holy month.
