National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) made a donation of BD 11,000 to the Interior Ministry as part of its donations and contributions programme for the year 2010. During a meeting held at his office in NBB, Mr. Abdul Rahman Abdulla Mohammed, General Manager- Banking Group presented the cheque to Major Mubarak Abdulla Bin Huwil. This contribution received from NBB will help the Ministry in organizing a special programm on the occasion of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking observed globally on 26 June 2010.

Commenting on this occasion, Mr. Abdul Rahman Abdulla Mohammed, General Manager- Banking Group at NBB said that NBB has been fully committed to promote the Ministry’s social activities that help serving Bahrainis and improve the welfare of the community. This financial support is part of the Bank’s role as a responsible corporate citizen who provides aid to various worthwhile causes by dedicating special monetary amounts of the Bank’s donations and contributions programme annually.
On his part, Major Mubarak Abdulla Bin Huwil expressed his sincere thanks to the NBB Board of Directors chaired by Mr. Abdulla Ali Kanoo and Mr. Abdul Razak Abdulla Hassan Al Qassim, NBB CEO & Director, for the Bank’s supportive gesture.
He also added that the Bank’s contribution would ensure the success of the Ministry’s special efforts to mark The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. These efforts aim at raising awareness among the public to the hazards of drug abuse and its far-reaching implication on the society at large. Major Huwil lauded the Bank’s support to worthwhile causes and thanked the Bank for its commendable role towards the betterment of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Nasser Mohammed Nasser, Secretary to the Board of Directors of NBB and First lieutenant Abdulrahman Ahmed Showayter.
